Lauren came to Happy Tails in 2015 with a large problem in a 16 lb package.  Riley, her newly rescued dog, came with reactivity towards anything that moved, and fear aggression issues.  She started with private lessons at Happy Tails and moved into a residency with Riley.  After graduating from Michigan State with a Bachelors in Japanese and German she set out in the world.  As luck would have it, her biggest passion was still her dog.  Lauren decided she would love to help others help their dogs become the dogs they always knew they could be.  So in August 2017 Lauren joined the Happy Tails staff as a Kennel Assistant with dreams of being the next trainer!

In May of 2018, Lauren graduated from National K9 School for Dog Trainers where her favorite sections were service work and puppy development. Upon coming back from school, she met her next dog, Dug, a very timid Golden Retriever who lacked confidence. Through seeing both of her dogs grow and surpass any expectations she had set for them, Lauren has been completely changed by the experience of being a dog trainer. She absolutely loves helping people and loves to see dogs make breakthroughs.

Outside of work, you can find her on the trails with her dogs!  She loves to see them interact with nature.  She also really enjoys travel domestically and internationally!
