Heather started at Happy Tails in March 2018 as a full-time Kennel Assistant. She instantly became an integral part of the team. Her previous experience with dogs includes volunteering in a rescue, fostering them in her home and then adopting as well. Prior to Happy Tails she had 8 years working in the veterinarian field as a technician/assistant at local animal hospitals. Heather was quick to notice the need for training as she saw first-hand the struggles of caring for unmanageable dogs. Her time there gave her a strong foundation from which to build on moving forward into dog training.
After joining the Happy Tails team, Heather enrolled in and graduated from National K9 School for Dog Trainers in November 2018. Her time there was invaluable as it gave her the necessary tools for dealing with unmanageable dogs in an effective and caring way. Along the way Heather has blossomed into a highly skilled, proficient and one of a kind trainer with a unique skillset. Heather has faith in and is committed to teaching and reinforcing the principles and techniques we teach here at Happy Tails – so much so that she even enrolled her own dog into the program! She is compassionate and enthusiastic about positively changing lives for dogs and their families.
Heather has one son, Anthony, and one fur-son, Maceo. She is adventurous, creative, enjoys road trips and traveling, summers on the great lakes and has a love for music.
