Happy Tails operates out of a state-of-the-art training facility in Shelby Twp! We are located near the corner of 23 Mile Road and Mound Road! In March 2017, we moved from a one training-room facility to a place with 4 indoor training rooms and 4 outdoor fenced-in training areas.

- We have a 25 dog capacity for training and boarding
Health & Safety is our main priority! Here are some of the ways we are protecting your dog:
- We invested more than $60,000 in fresh-air replacement systems throughout the building for optimal clean air. This reduces the chance of airborne illnesses to spread. We also require every dog that walks into our facility to be up-to-date on vaccinations and dogs that stay must have proof of a clean stool to prevent dogs from coming that have parasites or worms.
- We have replaced the existing floor with a full-chip epoxy that prevents urine and water from penetrating to the concrete. This will prevent the spread of illness, eliminate any “dog smell” and it’s easy to clean.
- The facility is equipped with an automatic fire suppression system. Automatic fire suppression systems are used to extinguish or prevent the spread of fire in a building without human intervention (fully equipped with fire suppression walls, doors and sprinklers throughout the entire building). The building is also monitored 24/7 by a fire company so in the event that smoke appears in the building, the Shelby Twp fire department will immediately be notified. And they are a quarter mile away from our center!
- The facility is monitored by 24 indoor & outdoor HD cameras. These cameras record all activities on the property.
- The building is equipped with a security system as well, monitored off-site. Every door and window has sensors to ensure that we can’t set the alarms unless they are all closed.
- Electrical outlets throughout the kennel room and training rooms are all 4′ or higher off the ground. Even though every dog will be monitored and supervised when out of their suites or crates, this is an extra safety measure to just make sure we’ve covered all safety aspects.
We offer puppy preschool classes, private lessons, resident training programs and group classes for young dogs and resident graduates. In addition, we will offer standard boarding to Happy Tails customers as well as an advanced board & train option. At this time we do not offer group play, grooming or boarding to non-Happy Tails customers.
