Graduate Programs

You’ve completed your customized Happy Tails program … Now what?

Your trainer expressed how important consistency is to maintain your dog’s new manners!  Have you heard the term “use it or lose it”?  Your dog will test you and can get sloppy over time if their skills are not reinforced.  It should be a part of your daily routine, but we understand people get busy.  Happy Tails is here to help!

Here are some additional ways to keep your skills sharp and your dog’s obedience spot on!

Private “Tune-Up” Lessons

  • We recommend a “tune-up” lesson with a trainer once per month to help you maintain your consistency and sharpen your dogs skills.  Your dog will only be as good as you are!  Much like we as trainers refresh our skills, we encourage you to do the same.  We are not introducing new commands during tune-up lessons, we are simply refreshing the things you’ve learned and putting your skills to the test
  • The visits are typically one-hour long
  • $90 per hour for an in-home or on-location tune up
  • $70 per hour if you come to our training center

Advanced Group Classes

  • We host advanced classes on the first Saturday of every month (except holiday weekends).  These classes are for resident graduates OR people who have been through a minimum of 4 private lessons.
  • Classes are invite-only.  You must be able to maintain control of your dog during these classes.  If you need additional tune-up help, you can schedule private tune-up lessons.
  • Classes are $25 each (unless you received free classes with your resident training program)
  • Space is limited, call to reserve your spot 586-580-3684

Advanced Boarding (with Training Maintenance)

  • Although we are not a boarding/kennel facility, some clients have asked us to house their dogs while they are away.  We can offer these services during most times of the year.  Boarding at Happy Tails is considered “specialty” because during their stay, they are actually getting a mini resident training program.  Throughout the day, they are getting training lessons based on what they have learned in the past.  No new commands are taught, but we refresh the things they have learned.
